Young Para’s sex torture

A YOUNG soldier was subjected to a sickening night of sex torture by drunken Para officers, military cops have been told. He was found unconscious in the officers mess of the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment. He was anked below the waist and had suffered wounds which required him to see a doctor. The soldier, a corporal in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, has claimed he was kidnapped in Colchester, Essex, just after midnight last Friday. In a formal police statement taken against his will to the officers’ mess at 3 Para’s HQ, Hyderbad Barracks, where he was forced to drink huge amounts of booze and tied up before repeated sexual assaults.

Detectives from the Royal Military Police’s Special Investigation Branch were called in by 3 Para’s Commander, Lt Col Matt Lowe. They ordered the buildings where most of the unit’s officers live as well as socialise to be shut for forensic tests.

A Para source said:

‘This is disaster.  You wouldn’t expect this disgusting behaviour from the most bog standard blanket stackers, let alone one of the premier fighting forces.  And it looks like officers are involved which makes it worse’.

If there is enough evidence to prosecute for kidnap and sexual assault, the culprits could serve up to ten years in a military prison before being booted out of the Army.

An MoD spokesperson said:

‘Following an incident involving members of the Parachute Regiment at Colchester and an alleged assault, the service police launched an investigation. The Parachute Regiment are co-operating fully’.
