Agony for Iraq widow
The widow of a marine killed in the Gulf has endured fresh heartache after being told that some of his remains have been sent to America by mistake. Lianne Seymour, who has a young son, faces having to arrange a second funeral for Ian, 28, who was killed in a helicopter crash in the early days of the Iraqi war.
The disclosure follows the Ministry of Defence’s public apology to Mrs Seymour when it asked her to repay some of her dead husband’s wages just days after his death. Yesterday, Mrs Seymour, 27, from Poole, Dorset, said:
I’m just devastated and so upset that they could let this happen.
